Staff onboarding



The onboarding process applies for adding either newly-joined or existing staff to Marco. The typical Marco onboarding process includes the following:

  1. Add the staff to Marco.
  2. Add the staff's information.
  3. Invite the staff to Marco.


Step 1: Add staff to Marco

As a manager, you can add staff into Marco to begin the onboarding process.

The staff's user account will not be automatically created when you add them to Marco. However, once the staff's details are registered on Marco, you can invite the staff to create their Marco account.

To add staff to Marco:

  1. Go to People.
  2. Select Add New Staff.

    The Add New Staff screen appears.
  3. Enter the following basic staff information:
    • Name
    • Account Email—this will be used by the staff to sign in to Marco.
    • Country
    • Local/Non-Local
    • Job Title
    • Job Start Date
  4. Select the service type for the staff.
  5. Select Add Staff. The staff has been added to Marco. You can proceed to fill in the staff information.


Step 2: Add staff's information to Marco

During onboarding, both staff and managers are required to contribute information. This can be completed with the following methods:

  • Fill up onboarding forms
  • Fill up information manually in Marco

Send onboarding forms

Onboarding forms can be sent immediately after the staff has been added or later. There are two types of onboarding forms:

  • Staff form—collects personal and bank information from the staff.
  • Manager form—collects the staff's work information, leave details, and pay details.

Note: These onboarding forms can only be sent to other Marco users. For new staff with no Marco account yet, they will be prompted to create an account when filling out the form.

To send an onboarding form later:

  1. Go to People.
  2. Select a staff > (three-dot icon) > Send Onboarding Form.
    The Send Onboarding Form screen appears.
  3. Select Send onboarding form to Staff.
    A success pop-up notification appears. An email will be sent to the staff, inviting them to fill out the form.


Step 3: Invite staff to Marco

As a manager, you can invite staff to Marco so that they can complete their Marco account registration. Users cannot create an Marco account on their own without an invitation link.

Note: Skip this step if you have already sent an onboarding form to the staff, because the staff will be required to create their Marco account before filling out the form.

To invite staff to Marco:

  1. Go to People.
  2. Select a staff > (three-dot icon) > Send Account Invite.
    A success pop-up notification appears. A welcome email will be sent to the staff, inviting them to complete their registration on Marco.
